We’ve partnered with a third-party Tax Planning/CPA firm that is working in conjunction with MainStreet Financial Planners to provide tax planning and preparation services.

Robert Colon
Robert Colon, CFP®, EA®

Rob partnered up with the MainStreet Financial Planning team in 2022 and brings over 15 years of financial planning and accounting experience. His path to planning and accounting was a bit more circuitous than most. Rob graduated from Bucknell University with a double major in Physics and Political Science, however, quickly pursued a career in finance working as a financial advisor in a boutique wealth management firm.

While studying for the CFP® exam, Rob was exposed to the complexities of the accounting and tax world and quickly wanted to learn more. He began working for a small CPA firm to learn the many aspects of this new appealing world and found great enjoyment in observing small business owners pursue their dreams, as well as easing the minds of other clients regarding their tax concerns.

Rob opened his own firm in 2014 and has been helping individuals and small businesses with their various tax needs ever since. It is his goal to help clients navigate the complexities in the tax system, especially in recent years with the various tax code changes. He prides himself on his approachable demeanor and aims to make the tax and accounting process as seamless and enjoyable as it can possibly be.

When can I sign up for tax preparation service for the upcoming tax season?

You can sign up year-round. Generally, we will begin taking reservations in November.

When do I need to provide tax information to MainStreet’s tax team to guarantee on-time filling?

All information should be uploaded 30 days prior to the filing deadline into the Client’s portal.

What are the steps to get started?

  1. MainStreet team will send you onboarding steps, which include signing an agreement and submitting a $200 deposit. 
  2. Next, you will be introduced to our Tax team and provided instructions on how to proceed from there.

How are my fees calculated?

Please refer to the pricing sheet as a reference. Once you onboard you will be provided with a more detailed fee quote.

Does MainStreet offer Tax Planning and Tax Preparation services to Non-MainStreet clients?

At this time MainStreet’s tax team is only able to offer these services to active clients.
